With an HSA, you don’t file claims for reimbursement the same way you would with other tax-advantaged accounts. Instead, you’re free to withdraw money from your HSA to reimburse yourself for out-of-pocket spending without a claim being reviewed. This means that you’re responsible for making sure that all HSA expenses are eligible, as well as keeping records of your purchases to be able to prove their eligibility.
We always encourage you to keep receipts on file for possible future uses.
For all HSA eligible purchases and services, please use the Pay Myself functionality to be reimbursed.
To be reimbursed for your HSA expenses, following the below instructions:
- Log in to your Forma account
- Navigate to Accounts → Health Savings Account → Manage → Pay Myself
- You will be directed to a new page that shows HSA account details. Select HSA bill pay
- Complete the requested information and submit the payment request
Forma strives to be your official HSA record keeper. We're happy to provide you with storage of your documents to have proof of compliance with IRS regulations. You can save your claims or card transaction details by adding expenses in the HSA account section for any future tax inquiries.
You can keep track of your expense history at the bottom of the HSA account page
