GST stands for Goods and Services Tax, a value-added tax imposed on the supply of goods and services. GST will be auto-calculated on the claims submission page based on the amount you are claiming, your country, and your account balance.
The claim amount submitted should include the GST. For example, if the total expense you paid is $110 and the GST is $10, please enter the amount as $110 in the Amount field and the $10 GST will be auto-calculated on the claim submission form. You can override the auto-calculated GST on the claim submission form. For some special goods or services, there might not be GST imposed. You can simply change the entry to $0.
If the total amount is larger than your account balance, the system will follow the following logic to calculate the GST amount for you:
-
If your employer allows reimbursement plans, the GST amount will be calculated based on the total amount you claim for.
-
If your employer doesn't allow reimbursement plans, the GST amount will be calculated based on your current account balance.
For example, if you're an Australian employee with an account balance of $110, and you're filing a claim of $220.
-
If your employer allows reimbursement plans, the GST amount will show $20.
-
If your employer doesn't allow reimbursement plans, the GST amount will show $10.
